Maersk CEO: Arctic container shipping a long-term proposition

There is still a long way to go before container shipping will start to benefit from the Northern Sea Route, says Maersk CEO Nils Smedegaard Andersen.

It is going to take many years before Arctic sailing starts to hold commercial opportunities that can benefit container shipping. At least ten to twenty years, says Nils Smedegaard Andersen, CEO of Maersk.
