Alphaliner: Keep an eye on Evergreen in 2014

Taiwanese container carrier Evergreen is regaining its former strength and will perform a solid capacity expansion in 2014.

The world's fourth largest container carrier, Taiwanese Evergreen, is in the midst of a remarkable comeback after the carrier lost huge market shares since 2004, as the company at that time decided to stop all newbuildings due to the inflated prices.

But the situation is completely different now, and over the next 15 months, Evergreen will reclaim lost market shares to an even greater degree than what the carrier is doing now, says Alphaliner in a new analysis.
