3i invests 165 million euros in Scandlines

Equity fund 3i will acquire Allianz Capital Partners' ownership stake in Scandlines by the end of the year and also invest 165 million euros in the shipping company.

Private equity fund 3i has reached a final agreement with Allianz Capital Partners to acquire the company's 49 percent ownership stake in shipping company Scandlines. 3i submitted an offer in September to buy the shares in Scandlines, and that offer has now been accepted. Thus 3i becomes majority shareholder in the ferry company, which has been up for sale for a long time with no buyer.
