Torm ship fends off pirate attack

Product tanker Torm Kansas was attacked by pirates on Saturday. The attack was fended off and nine pirates have now been arrested.

The product tanker Torm Kansas was attacked by a group of pirates on Saturday in the Indian Ocean, says the carrier in a press release.

The attack took place in the Indian Ocean on the route between Sikka, India, and Mossel Bay in South Africa. Duringr the attack, where the pirates fired shots at Torm Kansas, the guards on board the ship also fired warning shots against the pirates. No crew members, guards, or pirates were hurt during the incident.
