Drewry: The EU has a weak case

Several analysts believe that the EU has embarked on a case that could easily end in defeat. British Drewry calls on the EU to establish clearer rules.

There has not been a big show of support for the EU-Commission after Competition Commissioner Joaquín Almunias decided to launch proceedings against 14 container carriers.

Most recently British Drewry expresses puzzlement about the case, which concerns whether 14 of the world's biggest container carriers, including Maersk Line, have been coordinating their price initiatives simply by announcing their intentions to increase the rates.
