Former Virgin Atlantic CEO to head Scandlines

Former CEO of Virgin Atlantic Airways, Steve Ridgway, becomes the new Chairman of the Scandlines Board of Directors, effective immediately. He replaces Håkan Samuelsson.

Scandlines will be headed by a newcomer as Steve Ridgway takes over, effective immediately, as Chairman of the ferry company. The ferry company has appointed the former CEO of Virgin Atlantic Airways as new Chairman of the group's Board of Directors. He takes over immediately, replacing Håkan Samuelsson, according to press release from Scandlines' owner 3i and the ferry company.

The new Chairman has more than 30 years' experience from working at Virgin Atlantic Airways, where he served as CEO from 2001 to 2013, and his leadership abilities in particular will benefit the carrier, according to the statement. And Steve Ridgway will also strengthen the consolidation of Scandlines' position as market leader.
