Shipowners fear time is running out on MRV agreement

There is a lot of uncertainty about where the EU Commission's CO2 proposal for shipping will end up, says the Danish Shipowners' Association man in Brussels, Simon Bergulf. "Unfortunately we're in the hands of the Greek Presidency right now."

The question of where exactly the EU Commission's proposal to monitor the shipping industry's CO2 emission will up is currently fraught with a lot of uncertainty. He says that the MRV proposal is not a top priority for the Presidency, and the working group under the Council of Ministers is not set to meet until late February, to discuss the matter.
