Bangladesh shuts down illegal scrapping for the first time

The Supreme Court in Bangladesh has shut down two illegal scrapping facilities in the infamous Chittagong region. First time this has happened, says NGO Shipbreaking Platform.

Authorities in Bangladesh have now taken action for the first time against illegal scrapping, shutting down two facilities in the much maligned Chittagong region in the Southeastern part of the country, says Brussels-based NGO Shipbreaking Platform, which is highly pleased to finally see authorities take action.
