Oaktree leads the equity fund invasion in shipping

Private equity funds have performed a series of spectacular investments in shipping. American investment bank Global Hunter Securities has listed the most remarkable investments.

American Oaktree Capital Management accounts for the biggest and most remarkable investments among the equity and hedge funds' current invasion of the international shipping industry from 2010 and up until October 2013.

New York-based investment bank Global Hunter Securities - which has participated in IPO's, private placements, and acts as a consultant to companies such as Navigator Holdings, Scorpio Bulkers, Navios Maritime Partners, and Seadrill - has published a list where the bank ranks the biggest investments in shipping performed by equity funds since the crisis bottomed out in 2010 and going forward.
