Fredriksen's right-hand man gets billion-dollar parting gift

Tor Olav Trøim has been part of John Fredriksen's shipping empire for more than 19 years. Now he is slowing down, and according to statements to the Oslo Stock Exchange he has acquired shares for USD 258.6 million, based on Monday's closing rates, says Dagens Næringsliv.

John Fredriksen's close confidant for 19 years, Tor Olav Trøim, will get a new role to play in the conglomerate, along with a massive pile of shares, as evident from a statement to the Oslo Stock Exchange. Shares that, according to Norwegian newspaper Dagens Næringsliv, are worth USD 258.6 million, based on the closing rates on Monday.
