Scandlines: Fehmarn link gets illegal state subsidies

The Fehmarn Belt fixed link will destroy Scandlines' Rødby-Puttgarden connection, and the state subsidies to the link violate EU's competition rules, says Scandlines CEO Søren Poulsgaard Jensen, who is waiting for a reply from the Danish Minister for Transport.

The Fehmarn Belt fixed tunnel link between Denmark and Germany could undermine the ferry service on the same route, in the worst case resulting in a closure of the service. That is how Scandlines CEO Søren Poulsgaard Jensen describes the worst case scenario for the ferry operator, which has 1,000 employees on the ferry service.
