
The Suez Canal's revenue increased to USD 508 million in August, says Chairman of the canal authority Mohab Mamish, according to Reuters.
This represents the highest monthly profit, and 2014 has been predicted to be a record-year for the canal. The massive shipping shortcuts are currently experiencing major changes, and the Panama Canal is expected to complete its new water lock - which will enable the transit of bigger ships - in the first half of 2016.
