
The lethal Ebola virus has killed more than 4,000 people and infected more than 8,000 since March this year. Ebola has made several carriers change their services and crewing procedures, made seafarers fear calls in West Africa and made security companies estimate that the virus represents a major risk to the current shipping industry.
But Ebola has not yet impacted container carriers' business in the region, says SeaIntel in a new analysis. There are, however, other challenges that could disrupt the carriers' routes on West Africa.
