Denmark advances on the list of biggest flag states

The Danish flagged merchant fleet has grown 13 percent since the beginning of the year, while operated tonnage has decreased, according to the latest statistics from the Danish Shipowners' Association.

More ships have been placed under Danish flag since the beginning of the year, as the Danish flagged merchant fleet has grown 13 percent in gross tons. At 13.8 gross tons, corresponding to 15.9 million dwt, the fleet is bigger than ever, says the Danish Shipowners' Association in a new report.
