Maersk Supply Service under daily pressure from customers

Maersk Supply Service's customers in the oil industry currently have only one single agenda: cost reductions. The crisis in the industry could last for two years, CEO Carsten Plougmann Andersen tells ShippingWatch.

Before the turn of the year Maersk Supply Service did not particularly note that the oil industry was suffering from the low oil price and that the companies in the sector were becoming increasingly anxious, launching layoff rounds. The Maersk Group's offshore service carrier delivered good results for the 3rd and 4th quarter, and the carrier's fleet faced solid utilization rates.
