Reederei NSB moves crewing to the Philippines

One of Germany's biggest operators of German-flagged tonnage - Reederei NSB, which is planning to out-flag its entire fleet - is now also moving its crewing business out of the country.

Reederei NSB, which is currently in the process of out-flagging its entire fleet from Germany, has - like numerous other carriers - now also established a crew management office in Manila in the Philippines.

The carrier has joined forces with Columbia Shipmanagement to establish the company Asia Marine Philippines, and the newly formed business will cover the whole range of crewing services, from recruitment of officers and seafarers, training and other areas, for both Reederei NSB's own fleet as well as for external shipowners, says the German carrier in a statement Tuesday.
