Four carriers have violated the sulfur directive in Norwegian waters in the first half of the year. Or in any case, four carriers have been caught in breach of the new regulations after 100 controls performed on Norwegian and international ships in the period.
Three of the carriers have been fined upwards of USD 37,000, reports Norwegian media Sysla.no. As for the fourth carrier, the case process has not yet begun, so the outcome here remains to be seen.
