Prosafe takes big hit from oil downturn

Norwegian Prosafe is hit hard by the weak offshore markets in its second quarter interim report. Things will get better in the long run, says the company.


The world's largest accommodation and service vessel carrier Prosafe is facing the harsh realities of the offshore market in the second quarter.

The company's second quarter revenue dropped to USD 92.5 million from USD 133.4 million in the same period last year, while the carrier's profit plummeted by more than 50 percent to USD 22.8 million, down from USD 55 million in the second quarter 2014.
