
Global container shipping companies will have to find savings in the coming years, and there will therefore likely be more actions on a broad front in the coming years, analyst Lars Jensen of SeaIntelligence Consulting tells ShippingWatch after Maersk Line Wednesday morning reported extensive streamlining in the future.
The container carrier will reduce its staff on land by 4, 000 employees globally by 2018, from the current 23, 000 while automation and digitalization will take over some of the functions today.
