Container carriers poised for massive downscale

Maersk Line may further streamline staff numbers in the coming years, says analyst Lars Jensen of SeaIntelligence Consulting. The competitors will follow suit.

Global container shipping companies will have to find savings in the coming years, and there will therefore likely be more actions on a broad front in the coming years, analyst Lars Jensen of SeaIntelligence Consulting tells ShippingWatch after Maersk Line Wednesday morning reported extensive streamlining in the future.
