It might seem absurd for a customer to pay the same bill twice. But the Danish dry bulk carrier XO Shipping expects that two concrete arrests of ships in Turkey and the US, respectively, will end in double payments.
This relates to the now more than a year old case following the collapse of the once major Danish bunker company OW Bunker, in which Dutch bank ING, as the biggest of a total 13 creditors, are persistently trying to recover its claims of 700 million dollars from carriers around the world - even if the carriers have already paid for the bunker deliveries and have their paperwork in order.
