New IMO Secretary: Shipping faces major challenges

In the future, the international shipping industry will be hit by a range of requirements which pose a challenge to the industry, says the IMO's new Secretary General.

The international shipping industry will face strong challenges in the future due to new requirements, including CO2 emissions restrictions, ballast water regulations, the fight against piracy and increased shipping in Arctic waters.
