Thorco Shipping gets new equity injection from owners

After another challenging year, Thorco Shipping's owners, the Danish Stadil family, has decided to convert a USD 36 million loan into equity for the carrier. "It's a tough market," says chairman Thor Stadil.

Businessman Christian Stadil and his father Thor Stadil have in recent years been highly successful with several of their businesses.

The family's commitment to carrier Thorco Shipping, however, has developed into a nightmare for the successful family, whose well-known enterprises include sports brand Hummel and moulded fiber egg packaging unit Brd. Hartmann.
