Swedish Club: Dry bulk vessel cargo tops list of damage claims

Poor control and improper handling of cargo on board dry bulk vessels make up the majority of damage claims, and are also the most costly for insurers.

Damage to cargo on board dry bulk vessels inflicts, on average, the greatest cost upon insurers, while the number of claims in connection with this type of damage continues to top the list, as has been the case the past 10 years, according to a new report by marine insurer Swedish Club.
