These are the new EU requirements for responsible scrapping

The EU is now ready to present its requirements for yards looking to be approved for shipbreaking. The regulations also aim to put an end to scrapping on beaches where the process poses a risk to the environment as well as employee safety.

The European Union's regulations for yards looking to be approved for vessel scrapping are now ready after the Commission has released a comprehensive list of requirements that yards and other scrapping facilities must meet if they want to be approved under the so-called EU Ship Recycling Regulation.
