New numbers from China show decline in activity

China warns of upcoming challenges for manufacturers. New orders declined for the second consecutive month, and the index for new export orders also went south.

The Chinese PMI index for the manufacturing sector showed a slowdown in activity growth. But when it comes to the expansion itself - or lack thereof -  there is a divergence between the official estimate and the calculations from Caixin Media and Markit Economics.
