Leading players form new LNG collaboration

A new alliance between Wärtsilä, DNV GL, the Port of Rotterdam, Shell, and many more has been born. Sea/LNG will get the ball rolling in the development of Liquefied Natural Gas, LNG, as marine fuel.

The pace is much too slow in terms of accepting Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) as a marine fuel, say several leading players across the industry. Although LNG has repeatedly been highlighted as one of the solutions in the future of shipping which faces increasing environmental regulation, the development has yet to take off.
