Stena AB repays huge bond loans

Major and wealthy Swedish shipping group Stena AB is, unlike several of its Nordic peers which are currently wrestling with their bondholders, able to repay two large bond loans for a total EUR 600 million, which are set to mature on Feb. 1 this year.

Sweden's largest shipping group, Stena AB, is ready to pay out two large bond loans on Feb. 1, CFO Martin Nerfeldt tells ShippingWatch.

"We will repay the outstanding figure," he says of the two loans of EUR 300 million apiece.

3i buys AMP out of Esvagt

Private equity firm 3i, which owns half of carrier Esvagt, has agreed with the company's second owner, AMP Capital, to take over all of Esvagt for GBP 268 million, making 3i the sole owner. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.
