EU Parliament pushing for ban on heavy fuel in the Arctic

Two committees in the EU Parliament are now pushing for the Parliament to ban sailing on heavy fuel in the Arctic in line with the out-phasing of the fuel implemented by Canada and the US. NGOs praise the initiative.

The committees for environment and foreign affairs in the EU Parliament have adopted a resolution for the EU's Arctic policy which includes a focus on banning sailing on heavy fuel in the region.
