Svitzer's taxes investigated by Swedish authorities

Svitzer's activities in the Faroe Islands are operated out of Sweden and the carrier must pay Swedish taxes, according to the Swedish Tax Agency. Svitzer confirms and states that the carrier is discussing the matter with the authorities.

The Swedish Tax Agency has reviewed Svitzer's taxes over recent years and concluded that the carrier must pay taxes in Sweden for the company's Faroese activities in the form of the towage vessels which sail under the Faroese flag, writes Swedish media sjofolk.se.
