NGOs to IMO: Settle on a climate target

The IMO should, as a minimum, reach internal agreement that the coming climate strategy must contain clear-cut targets for by how much shipping must reduce its emissions. And there is also a need for immediate action, say NGOs.

LONDON

An ambitious climate strategy that stresses the need for targets for the reduction of greenhouse gases is at the top of the agenda at several of the NGOs participating in the ongoing meeting of the IMO's Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) in London.

3i buys AMP out of Esvagt

Private equity firm 3i, which owns half of carrier Esvagt, has agreed with the company's second owner, AMP Capital, to take over all of Esvagt for GBP 268 million, making 3i the sole owner. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.
