Østergaard's SDK sets its sights on air & sea in next acquisitions

SDK's desire for acquisitions goes far beyond the takeover of logistics company Freja. Candidates in air and sea freight are a hot topic, CEO Søren Gran Hansen tells ShippingWatch. Updated.

Since Søren Gran Hansen six years ago took charge of SDK and was tasked by owner Torben Østergaard-Nielsen to complete a turnaround and increase the top line, the company has made 17 acquisitions.

In particular, the latest transaction, the takeover of Freja, puts SDK in a whole new league with an annual revenue of more than DKK 5 billion (USD 783 million) and around 1,300 employees in eight countries.
