DHL transported fewer containers in the third quarter

The coronavirus crisis and capacity shortages at sea mean that DHL freighted 10 percent fewer containers in the latest quarter. This development led to lower revenue within ocean freight. The business improves overall.

Sea freight took a tumble at DHL Global Forwarding in the latest quarter, in which both the Covid-19 crisis and capacity shortages at sea pressured freight forwarders around world.

The total division improves, largely due to advantageous rates within air freight, while the company continues to fight for ocean capacity with the major global container lines.
