Kurt Skov retires from the position as chair of the Blue Water Group, which he helped found more than 50 years ago.

The responsibility is passed on to Jørgen Wisborg, who will head the operational board of the Danish company going forward.

”It has been amazing to head Blue Water during all these years and experience the great development our employees have contributed to in Blue Water,” states Skov in a press release.

Skov founded Blue Water Shipping in 1972. After more than four decades in charge of the company, he launched a generational change last summer.

To begin with, his daughter Anne Skov took over the chair position of the Blue Water Foundation, which represents approx. 75 percent of shares.

And now the responsibility of heading the so-called operational board is handed over to Jørgen Wisborg.

”I am a very value-driven person, and I deeply respect the values of Blue Water: acting responsibly and having trust in all stakeholders: employees, clients and business partners,” Wisborg says.

Wisborg was CEO of oil company OK for 17 years, leaving the position in 2022 to focus on board work instead. He is currently a board member of companies including Schouw & Co and Danoil.

The new chair will gradually assume responsibility from Skov, who continues as a regular member of the operational board.
