From September 1, Casper Ellerbæk will take up the mantle as global head of ocean freight at DHL Global Forwarding, the air and sea freight specialist department of Deutsche Post DHL Group. Ellerbæk will take over from Dominique von Orelli.

Effective immediately, von Gorelli will become CEO of Hildebrand Gori, which DHL Global Forwarding acquired in 2022, a press release states.

Ellerbæk comes with experience from the major forwarder and competitor Swiss Kuehne + Nagel where he’s been employed since 2015. Likewise, he’s also previously been employed at DHL for several years, according to his LinkedIn profile.

In his coming position as global head of ocean freight, Ellerbæk will report directly to Tim Scharwath, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding.

The appointment was made, because Ellerbæk ”comes with an extensive network in the international logistics industry, which he has built up in various management positions in Canada, Europe, the Middle East and over the last 12 years in Asia,” the press release states.

”With Casper Ellerbæk, we have found an experienced leader with vast knowledge and great leadership skills to succeed Dominique,” CEO Scharwath concludes.
