Scan Global Logistics (SGL) adds another former top executive to its board of directors to help realize the company’s growth plans.

Thomas Nieszner, former CEO of DHL Global Forwarding, will thus be joining the board, according to a press release from SGL.

This is the first change to the board after former Maersk CEO Nils Smedegaard Andersen was appointed the logistics group’s chairman of the board in mid-May.

”I am very pleased that Thomas is joining the board, coming with a proven track record from the global freight forwarding industry. Thomas has a solid and in-depth understanding of the industry from a global perspective, with this being a very good match considering the global expansion journey SGL is undertaking,” Smedegaard Andersen says in the announcement.

Last year, the group had sales of more than USD 3.5bn, and the plan is to bring the number up to USD 6bn by 2027 through expansion into new markets and organic growth.
