French DB Schenker rival aims to close "white spots" on the world map

Systematic acquisitions are aiming at turning state-owned French logistics company Geodis into a fully global player.

While the German government is in the process of privatizing logistics company DB Schenker, Schenker’s French counterpart, state-owned Geodis, is in the process of expanding its business globally.

When Geodis acquired the small Swiss freight forwarder, ITS, in June, which specializes in the transport of large and heavy goods for the automotive and defense sectors, among others, Geodis CEO Marie-Christine Lombard made no secret of the French company’s global ambitions:
