Weak freight market causes pessimism among Hamburg forwarders

Higher ocean freight rates in the first quarter could not prevent pessimism from spreading among Hamburg shippers. A majority expect worse times in the freight market, according to media reports.

Declining freight volumes in the first quarter of the year are spreading pessimism among a majority of Hamburg’s freight forwarders, according to a survey conducted by the freight forwarders’ association Vereins Hamburger Spediteure (VHSp) among its member companies.
