Nippon Express loses big on lower demand

Despite a steep decline in operating income, the logistics giant takes comfort in increasing revenue. The company therefore maintains its expectations for the year.

The year’s first quarter has taken a heavy toll on the operating earnings of Japanese Nippon Express, the world’s eighth largest freight forwarding and logistics firm, according to the Q1 results from the Tokyo-based company.
