Seafarer job satisfaction increased in first quarter

Better wages and on-time payment were among the reasons why seafarers’ satisfaction with their working conditions increased in the first quarter of the year.

Seafarers in the global merchant fleet were more satisfied with their working conditions on ships in the first quarter of this year compared to the fourth quarter of 2023, according to the latest edition of the Seafarers Happiness Index.
