Tankers may sail on ammonia from 2030

According to a study, ammonia is a viable fuel alternative in shipping's climate change mitigation efforts. From 2030, tankers may be able to sail on the ammonia they transport themselves, the company behind the report tells ShippingWatch.

The first ammonia-fueled tankers may be able to sail the oceans within the next decade – and quite possibly on the same ammonia they transport for their customers, concludes a new study led by C-Job Naval Architects.
