Climate commissioner wants CO2 quotas on shipping

Shipping should be added to the EU's CO2 quota system, says future VP and climate commissioner of the European Commission Frans Timmermans.

BRUSSELS

Shipping is currently exempt from the EU's CO2 quota system, but this will not continue to be the case if Frans Timmermans gets his way. Timmermans is most likely the next lead vice president and climate commissioner in the upcoming European Commission.
