In 2020, one in ten container ships are expected to have a scrubber system installed, and this will give the vessels a competitive advantage through their ability to sail faster on less expensive heavy fuel, projects maritime analyst firm Alphaliner in its weekly newsletter.
"Carriers that deploy scrubber-fitted ships could take advantage of cheaper bunker prices in 2020 and speed up services," Alphaliner writes.
