Kitack Lim will go to Brussels to discuss CO2

IMO Secretary General Kitack Lim warns the EU about disrupting the efforts to reduce shipping's pollution globally. His warning comes after the EU Commission announced its plans to place shipping under the European emissions trading system.

Kitack Lim, secretary general of the IMO, will travel to Brussels early next year to discuss shipping's plans to pollute less with EU decision-makers, he tells industry media Lloyd's List.

The EU Commission this week presented its new and major green deal, which among other things means that shipping will be placed under the European emissions trading system, ETS.
