Maersk responds to authorities in case about re-flagging of vessels

The decision to scrap four ships that were flagged out of Denmark before ending up in India a few months later was made while the ships were outside of EU territory, says Maersk in a response to the EPA. The agency is now looking into the matter.

Maersk has responded to the Danish authorities in the case about four ships that were out-flagged from Denmark and scrapped on the beaches in India.

In a letter to the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, EPA, Maersk writes that the decision to scrap the four ships was taken while they were in international waters.
