European politicians want ambitious carbon regulations

On the same day that the EU Commission's draft on carbon quotas for shipping was leaked, a majority in the EU Parliament voted in favor of having shipping contribute significantly more to the fight against greenhouse gases.

A majority in the EU Parliament on Tuesday supported a proposal to reduce carbon emission from shipping significantly more in the coming years, not least by placing the sector under the EU's Emissions Trading System, ETS.
