Bimco and the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), the world's two dominant shipping organizations, do not agree on the implications of the proposed Carbon Intensity Indicators (CII) for shipping.

Several concerns have been raised regarding the use of the Annual Efficiency Ratio (AER) as the metric to measure CII, most recently from shipping organization Bimco.
