Ardmore points to one viable climate initiative for all ships

According to the Irish carrier, selecting the right measuring equipment is crucial for the sustainable conversion of the global merchant fleet. And all ships should be equipped with a particular propeller device, says Ardmore CEO.

In order to transition a major carrier's fleet to more sustainable solutions, it is crucial to select a system that will measure units correctly. It is the only way to determine whether various energy efficiencies are significant, said Managing Director at Ardmore Shipping when he spoke at virtual conference Marine Money on Tuesday.

He also emphasized that all ships should be equipped with a propeller boss cap fin – a device that can make the propellers on any ship more efficient:
