Prominent Norwegian group behind new large ammonia facility for shipping

Another Norwegian joint venture has stepped forward with the aim of producing green ammonia for shipping. The pilot facility will enter development as soon as next year, says the CEO of the new venture, Vidar Lundberg, to ShippingWatch.

Southern Norway will be the focus of a new joint venture by Grieg Edge, which is part of Grieg Maritime Group, and Arendals Fossekompagni after teaming up to establish North Ammonia, which will start producing in Arendal, Southern Norway.

According to Vidar Lundberg, CEO of North Ammonia, a pilot facility will enter development in 2022.
