Port closures gather momentum: Rotterdam could be on the table

In a few days, ports in several countries have closed for Russian vessels. The question now looms in Brussels, where ”everything is on the table” following the invasion of Ukraine. The Netherlands is open to shut down for port calls by Russian ships, says high-ranking EU diplomat.

BRUSSELS – If EU member nations should want to put the screws on Russia’s maritime sector, they will do so with the backing of the Netherlands, which has the largest merchant port in Europe.
