ICS appoints new chair in long awaited change of guard

Emanuele Grimaldi replaces Esben Poulsson as chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping, ICS.

The shipping companies’ global trade association, the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), has appointed Emanuele Grimaldi as new chairman in a long-planned shift in leadership, according to an announcement.

Grimaldi, who is CEO of shipping and logistics group Grimaldi Group, was appointed chair-designate already a year ago, when the ICS announced that Esben Poulsson would step down in the summer of 2022 after three periods as chairman of the carriers’ global organization.
